Summer Smoothies

Summer is the best time to get into the habit of making smoothies. It’s a great way to cool down when it gets hot and try new flavours. Below are some
recipes that we love; you can add your own twist to each of these.

Smoothies are so easy to make so give these ingredients a go.

Blueberry:

  • 150g Vanilla Greek Yoghurt (grab one with low sugar)
  • ½ Cup Milk (of your choice)
  • ½ Cup Frozen blueberries
  • ½ of a frozen banana
  • ¼ teaspoon Lemon zest
  • ½ cup ice

Combine all ingredients in a blender.

Watermelon:

  • 1 ½ cup Watermelon (seedless)
  • 1 Frozen Banana
  • 1 Apple peeled and cored
  • ¾ cup fat free Thick Greek Yoghurt
  • Agave or honey

For this smoothie, it’s best to blend the watermelon, strain it into a bowl and add the juices back into the smoothie.

Peach:

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 peach
  • 6 strawberries
  • 1 cup of milk
  • Ice

Combine all ingredients in a blender.

If you’re feeling a like being a little healthier, give this one a go:

Spirulina:

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 cup kale
  • ¾ cup milk (or liquid of you choice)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon spirulina

Combine all ingredients in blender.

Smoothies are such a great way to keep eating fruit and vegies. It’s also a great snack in between meals without cracking open the bag of potato chips.
