There are websites you’ll find making claims, suggesting they are “backed by research”, insisting high GForce is essential to achieve results. Like all research studies, if the results are self-serving then you should be wary of the claims. I can tell you with 20+ years experience, high GForce is absolutely NOT NECESSARY to achieve the best results.
I work with frail, disabled, elite athletes, as well as mums and dads looking to get their health back on track. They have all had great results on low frequency. Just like every other training method in the world… if you can’t do it slow, you SHOULD NEVER do it fast!
Not everything that vibrates is vibration training. Smaller and slower machines or lighter platforms, often provide only therapy results (i.e. circulation, massage etc). To change your body composition, you need a machine designed for this that also comes with sturdy side rails to hold the #1 pose for weight loss – the deep squat.
To lose weight you need to increase your metabolism. To achieve this your muscles must be under enough tension to grow stronger. Just standing can’t do that. But, when you go from standing into a squat you’ve switched the muscle activation from a gentle pump to full muscle contraction.
That’s where the magic begins.
Studies conducted on nursing home residents have shown excellent results for improved mobility. In my studios we work with deconditioned people every day – they all start with poor strength and no fitness. When committed to a proven program, everyone sees great progression.
Maintain the precise position recommended to achieve your goal. (e.g. explosive strength, balance, upper body strength… they all need a different approach!)
You need to do enough time in that pose to get the most out of it and that gets back to following a proven program.
The intensity of a pose has everything to do with your position on the tilting plate and the angle of your joints and will register in your body differently to what each machine’s specifications show are possible. A proven program is key.
Side rails are critical to keep you in the pose and lift you out as your legs fatigue. To improve balance, side rails also make standing poses safe. Add in the high platform, getting in and out of the seated position is now easy, so everyone can enjoy massage and get benefit from abdominal poses.
Most training programs provided by retailers are cloned off the internet and originate from importers that are not invested in results. They do very little towards achieving weight loss and toning, or improving health. Proven results from a trustworthy instructor with credentials, is EVERYTHING!!!
