Treadmills have long been the number one machine for home exercise. Why? The treadmill is the only piece of equipment that will keep your pace. Just set and forget. For this reason, it makes it such a powerful tool to help you lose weight and keep it off.

So how can treadmills achieve weight loss results? Here we share 4 ways of making the treadmill work hard for you.

1. Treadmills help burn more calories and fight the boredom

On a treadmill, having many different programs to choose from helps match your mood and provides versatility so your body continues to be challenged to burn calories. If you just want to walk, then there are walking programs with and without hills. Likewise, there are programs for a steddy jog or even using handweights for upper body strength exercises. 

3.  Treadmill helps increase your exercise frequency

A 3 year study conducted by the University of Stanford's Graduate School of Business found that consumers overestimate how often they will use their gym membership and that most don't visit the gym often enough to justify their membership costs.

Finding the time and energy to visit a gym is difficult for the majority of people. Which is why a home treadmill helps increase your workout time and frequency. Instead of having to travel, use the time in your workout. Or it can mean starting or finishing your workout earlier.

Experts tell us that two 15-minute workouts can give us the same exercise benefits as one 30-minute workout. So having the treadmill at your disposal means you can exercise a little in the morning, and then again in the evening. Whatever your regime, a home treadmill puts you in charge.
