1. Stretch before you get on the treadmill
2. When you get on, warm up first – walk for at least 10 minutes
3. Increase the incline slowly – 1-2%
4. Add interval training, as well as checking your heart rate
5. Decrease the elevation of the treadmill back to zero degrees, and begin cooling down. This could take up to 10 minutes.
