Does Whole Body Vibration (WBV) work?

WBV is a credible training system that has decades of research to back it up. The Russians have used it to strengthen their athletes since before the fall of the Berlin Wall. In Europe it is widely used in gyms, by sporting teams, chiropractors, physiotherapists and Personal Trainers.

How does Vibration Training work?

The CVC-100 linear Vibration platform creates vertical vibrations. Our body reacts with a series of natural, involuntary reflex muscle contractions. In fact, our muscles are responding as if we are jumping over and over again on the same spot. Depending on the Vibration speed, muscles may contract up to 60 times per second.

Can WBV really produce all the extensive benefits it claims?

Yes. Benefits such as increasing circulation, strength, toning, assisting with rehabilitation and even body fat loss are the results of research by over 30 universities worldwide.

Is Vibration Training safe?

The CVC-100 is safe for most people. There are some contraindications, for example, Vibration Training is not recommended during pregnancy; ask your CardioTech representative about other contraindications if you think they may apply to your clients.

Does Vibration Training work all muscle groups?

Yes. The Vibrations impact the entire body; it doesn't discriminate between different muscle groups. However, the Vibration is the highest in the body part closest to the platform.

Can my clients lose weight with Vibration Training?

Vibration Training supports weight loss. WBV has been shown to increase lean muscle mass, which increases metabolism. With a faster metabolism more calories are burnt, even at rest – as you know, this is a key to losing weight. For optimal weight loss advise your clients to combine Vibration Training with a low-fat diet and some cardio training.

How long do clients have to use the CVC-100 in any one session to get a benefit?

Your clients will notice benefits almost straight away – often after 1 minute changes can be felt. We recommend users build up to a full session as their strength develops. We provide you with a commercially designed and tested program to teach your clients. Using our unique program, training should take approximately 10 minutes, plus any rest time needed (advance users can extend up to 15 minutes). This workout can be used as a stand-alone program or in conjunction with cardio training.

Could a Vibration workout replace a client's entire fitness program?

The CVC-100 may increase isometric (still) and isotonic (moving) muscle strength, increase flexibility and mobility, improve coordination and core stability. It depends on your client's personal goals – if their objective is weight loss, we recommend incorporating Vibration Training with cardiovascular exercise, such as walking, running or bike riding.

How often should my clients use the CVC-100 for toning and strength improvement?

We recommend users follow our commercially tested 10 minute Safe Strength Program 2 to 3 times a week. Vibration Training should not be undertaken everyday; every second-day is ideal, combined with some cardio-vascular training.

What's CardioTech's unique 10 minute Safe Strength Program all about?

This program has been developed over many years for commercial studios and has been tested to give good toning and strength results in the shortest period possible. Our program is proven to be commercially lucrative – unlike many others!

Does Vibration Training reduce cellulite?

Toning and body shaping benefits heavily depend on the program being used. Users of our Safe Strength Program have shown good improvements in their visible cellulite.

As you would know, the causes of cellulite are poorly understood. It's widely believed that estrogen may play a dominant role as well as factors such as a poor functioning lymphatic and circulatory system, and a high stress lifestyle. Worldwide studies have shown that Vibration Training can change the balance of hormone levels by increasing testosterone and Human Growth Hormone. Users have also experienced a boost to their circulation, a surge in their serotonin and an increase in lean muscle… which in turn improves the body's metabolism.

What are the benefits of massage positions?

Massage on the CVC-100 enhances circulation considerably, which can be seen by the slight redness on the skin and felt by a tingly, warm sensation. This in turn may increase lymphatic drainage, flushing toxins from your body and reinforcing the production of collagen to improve the skin's suppleness. Together with the increased production of Human Growth Hormone, massage contributes to combating cellulite.

Can Vibration Training improve flexibility?

Yes. Research has shown that stretch positions promote flexibility. Within a few regular sessions you are likely to notice your body becoming more flexible and your range of motion increasing.

How do I start my clients off with Vibration Training and ensure they gain maximum benefits?

It is unusual with Vibration Training to experience sore and tight muscles associated with traditional strength training. For new Vibration clients it's important that they only maintain the pose for as long as they can keep precise form and correct posture. To maximize your individual clients' overall benefits, you can gradually increase the duration of each pose up to 90 seconds.

What should my clients wear for Vibration Training?

Flexible-soled or training shoes are recommended. This limits friction and promotes correct transfer of Vibrations through their body. If your clients would like to train barefoot or perform postures where other parts of your body are in contact with the Vibration platform, we suggest using the rubber mat supplied for added comfort. Comfortable sports clothing is recommended which enable ease of movement ad postures.

Is it normal for legs to itch during and after training?

Yes. Itching may occur while using the CVC-100. This is due to the large increase in circulation caused while training – this is completely normal.

How long will the training effects of Vibration last after the session is complete?

The effects of training on the CVC-100 diminishes with time – the same as with any type of training. If any muscle tissue in the body is not being used, the body will begin to break it down. The rate of this decline is dependent on many individual factors.

Do clients sweat during the Vibration workout?

Probably, any exercise or physical effort performed to cause a training effect will induce an increase in body temperature and metabolism. This in turn can cause perspiration.
