Let’s face it, none of us have the time to exercise for hours, and we’re not a contestant of The Biggest Loser. So what is the magic number that ensures were burning enough calories without over doing it?

According to Michelle Bridges, author or Total Body Transformation, the magic number is six days a week, and working out for 50 to 60 minutes each session. 

For those who are just getting started, this might seem like a lot. In fact, it sounds daunting. But it’s not where you need to begin and it doesn’t mean every session needs to be a gut retching marathon.  It’s about creating a weekly schedule that then becomes routine and eventually habit. Think about it… we don’t need to schedule time to brush our teeth morning and night, instead it’s just part of our daily routine. 

In your schedule, set out some sessions to do. Treadmills are effective weight loss solutions, because they come complete with all the programs to get you to your goal. Simple set and forget. So select some favourites, then allocate three “hard” workouts, two moderate, and one light. 

Remember, even if you miss a session … keep at it. You’ll still be doing better than where you were yesterday. If you stick at it, you’ll have yourself a habit in no time.
